Mother`s Public School emerge champions

Mother`s Public School emerged champions in the 9th VCAO Inter-School Cricket Tournament, defeating Unit-VI Government Boys High School in the final by five wickets at Unit-I High School ground in Bhubaneswar today. Avisek Mishra of the champion school scored a half-century to win the man of the match award.

Gouri Sankar Biswal (Mother`s Public), Avinab Ghosh (Stewart), Rajesh Nayak (Unit-VI) Rohit Agrawal (Mother`s Public) and Tusar Agrawal (Mother`s Public) were adjudged as the player of the tournament, best batsman, best bowler, best fielder and best wicket-keeper respectively.

Agriculture Secretary U P Singh gave away the trophy and prizes at the closing function. The champions received Rs 5,000 and the runners-up Rs 3,000. Yazdani International chairman Mohammad Yusha and officials of host Veterans` Cricket Association of Orissa (VCAO) were present on the occasion.
